BOSCO's (our youth and community building) and Claire's Coffee Lounge was officially opened on Saturday 27th June 2009 by the Rt Rev'd Ian Brackley, Bishop of Dorking.

The opening and dedication of this new Hall represents the culmination of many years of aspiration and work.  There was the initial resolve of the Church Council to explore the idea of upgrading and modernising the old hall, which was affectionately known as "The Den", and which had served the Church and Community well over 40 years, but was failing to serve the needs of the 21st century.

There was the task of raising the money, assisted by some generous legacies and grants and many generous individual donations as well as the round of constant, albeit enjoyable, fundraising events, which began in September 2007, a month after the full plans had received unanimous planning permission.

All this led the Church Council, in 2007 to appoint Homelodge Ltd as the main contractor, together with John Sharp, our Project Manager.

It is impossible to speak or write of this Project without making reference to the commitment and selfless dedication of the congregation of this Church.

The Project arose from our faith that, as a Parish Church, we have a responsibility for all members of our local community, a responsibility of loving service.

Our desire to create this resource for the benefit of all the community is our way of rising to the challenges of our faith and the needs we have identified around us. Money, time and talents have been given freely and generously by many. Quietly and prayerfully, without division or dissension, the congregation of this Church have sought to discern and act upon the commandment of our Lord, that we should love God and our neighbours.

Now there is a centre for both Church and Community to use, the design skilfully blending in with the Church itself, which we hope will be well used in the years to come.
